The school year is about to start, but children must stay at home to be protected from COVID-19. We urgently need to ensure that children, especially the poorest children, are equipped to continue learning while at home during this time of the pandemic.
Project ARAL ensures that children ages 3-12 years old continue learning by providing age-appropriate educational materials that can be used at home. These will also help them learn more about COVID-19, and adopt behaviors to prevent them from getting sick. Project ARAL is just one of our interventions geared towards children’s holistic development in this time of pandemic.
The educational materials will be based on tried-and-tested Save the Children modules and will contain messages on health and hygiene and psychosocial support. Parents will also receive information on how they can conduct the activities for children with disabilities. Parent guides will be directed to both male and female caregivers to address gender stereotypes and promote the equal role of men and women in children’s development.

PhP 500 will provide a child with a Basic Learning Kit, which contains writing and art materials,
PhP 2,000 will buy 3 Basic Learning Kits plus age-appropriate books,
PhP 7,500 will buy two Basic Learning Kits, 2 sets of age-appropriate books, and a smartphone to access digital educational materials .
These prices also include other costs such as book licensing fees, digital materials development, and staffing costs.
